Upcoming Trip Information

Central and Southwest Virginia Honor Flight takes veterans by bus from Bedford, Lexington, Charlottesville, Roanoke, Lynchburg, Martinsville, Danville and all throughout our region who have a desire to visit the national memorials that were created in their honor in Washington D.C. These trips to the memorials are completely free of charge to veterans.

This only scratches the surface on what we owe to them for our freedom—many of whom have never been appropriately thanked for their service to our country. Help us honor them by making a donation today.

Sample Trip Itinerary:

Guardian Training (1-2 Months in advance)

  • Bedford Area Welcome Center, 816 Burks Hill Rd., Bedford, VA 24523

  • 2:00 p.m to 4:30 p.m.

  • Required for all guardians accepted for trips

Friday to Sunday Trips in october and april

Friday:

  • Veteran, Guardian, and Family Meet and Greet in Bedford, Virginia

  • Tour the National D-Day Memorial

  • Depart Bedford, Virginia

  • Lunch in Charlottesville, Virginia

  • Visit the National Museum of the Marine Corps of the National Museum of the U.S. Army

  • Arrive in Fairfax, Virginia

Saturday: 

Tour Washington D.C.  and potential stops could include but are not limited to:

  • Air Force Memorial

  • Arlington Cemetery

  • Korean War Memorial

  • Lincoln Memorial

  • Marine Corps Memorial

  • Navy Memorial

  • Women in Military Service Memorial

  • World War II Memorial

  • Vietnam War Memorial

Sunday: 

  • Return to Bedford, Virginia

  • Welcome Home Ceremony
